Christmas present for Gor

This week I send some cartoon book to Gor.

It was my Christmas present for him.

I also send a postcard to a co-national who's been in Lard Yao from Bangkok for 14 years for drug trafficking. I hope the postcard will cheer her up!
Merry Christmas and a Better New Year to all Thai and foreign prisoners.

Next bookcrossing

Bangkok Bookcrossers is an informal group that normally meets the first Tuesday of every month to chat and exchange books. Unlike other book groups, we don’t pick a book for the month and discuss it. Instead, we get together to talk and exchange books we’ve already read.

You can join us at our next meeting: Tuesday, January 8, 2008 (6:30 p.m.)

NEW LOCATION: We will once again meet at Bert’s, located in Zen on the ground floor of Central World.

If you can’t make it to our evening Bangkok Bookcrossers meetings, don't worry. In addition to our regular first Tuesday of the month get-togethers, Bangkok Bookcrossers will also hold occasional weekday afternoon meetings.

Our next afternoon session will be on Friday, December 21, at 2:00 pm, at the Starbucks on Langsuan Road.

Hope to see you there!

Quotes about Asia (2)

“It was he who said one is never truly alone in Asia.”

“He knew well that there exist on the Asian continent many things that defy analysis; which, perhaps, have no place in the modern world. They relate to another set of laws; they are timeless.”

“In his opinion, any people who were not concerned with telling the truth – and, thus, giving offense – than they were with saving face were simply not trustworthy.”

(Eric Van Lustbader, White Ninja)

Bangkok Bookcrossers - December

Next Bangkok Bookcrossers meeting is Tuesday, December 4, at 6:30 pm. We will be trying out a NEW LOCATION this time: Bert's, a cafe located on the ground floor at Central World, inside Zen department store. It's near the cosmetics/perfume section. If you haven't been to Central World before, the easiest way to get there is to take the BTS skytrain to Chidlom, then follow the signs to the skywalk leading directly into Central World.
